Philip Hall, Saturday, 23 January 2010 Bookings are now being taken for the Marine Radio Operators Course. This is an evening course, split between two Fridays - Friday Feb 19th and Friday Feb 26th - 1800 to 2200hrs. Click title for more information. In accordance with Australian Communications Authority (ACA) regulations if you operate Marine VHF Radio equipment on your vessel then you must be in possession of a Certificate of Proficiency permitting you to operate such equipment. This includes offshore sailing, charter boats and overseas yacht charter holidays.
Topics covered include:
• GMDSS systems and equipment
• Use of MF/HF and VHF radio telephony
• Understanding and use of DSC facilities
• Maintenance of marine radio equipment
• Understanding of regulations applicable to the use of ship marine radios
• Knowledge of Australian Marine Search and Rescue system
This is an 8 hour course, split between two Friday evenings.
Course Length: 8 hours.
